A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Experience with handling chemical agents safely and adhering to chemical handling safety procedures. Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs or painting is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and equipment operation. Customer service skills are valuable for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when needed. Previous porter experience or industrial cleaning background will support success in this role.
