This position is responsible for operating floor sweepers and scrubbers, cleaning production and support areas, removing trash and debris, and maintaining housekeeping standards throughout the plant. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, can work independently with minimal supervision, and understands the importance of maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing environment. Occasional weekend work may be required to support quarterly deep-cleaning activities and special housekeeping projects. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain floor sweepers, scrubbers, and other industrial cleaning equipment throughout the plant. Clean and maintain production areas, maintenance shops, break areas, restrooms, and other assigned facility areas. Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility. Remove dust, debris, trash, and other contaminants to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Sweep, scrub, mop, vacuum, and perform general cleaning and sanitation duties as assigned. Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, housekeeping standards, and safety requirements. Maintain cleaning equipment and report equipment issues or maintenance needs to supervision. Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and communicate supply needs to supervision. Participate in quarterly deep-cleaning projects and special housekeeping activities, including occasional weekend work. Safely handle cleaning chemicals and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain clean and organized janitorial and supply areas. Assist with additional facility cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Previous industrial cleaning, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment or learn to operate industrial cleaning equipment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable and dependable attendance. Ability to follow safety procedures and established cleaning standards. Ability to work Monday through Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Ability to work occasional weekends for quarterly deep-cleaning activities and special housekeeping projects. Preferred High School Diploma or GED. Experience operating commercial floor sweepers, scrubbers, or similar industrial cleaning equipment. Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience performing deep-cleaning or specialized housekeeping projects. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of industrial cleaning and housekeeping practices. Ability to safely operate floor sweepers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to identify and report cleanliness, safety, equipment, or supply concerns. Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated work habits. Ability to adapt to changing cleaning priorities and facility needs. Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow applicable safety procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch while performing cleaning duties. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and materials. Ability to operate and maneuver floor sweepers, scrubbers, vacuums, carts, and other cleaning equipment. Ability to climb stairs and safely use ladders or step stools as required. Ability to perform repetitive movements involving the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and back. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, debris, noise, heat, cold, and moving equipment. Ability to safely work around production equipment, forklifts, cranes, and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear required PPE and safely handle cleaning chemicals and supplies. What Success Looks Like Production and support areas remain clean, orderly, and free of unnecessary debris. Cleaning schedules and assigned duties are completed consistently and thoroughly. Floor sweepers, scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment are operated safely and maintained properly. Trash, recycling, dust, and debris are removed in a timely manner. Cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and organized. Safety procedures and PPE requirements are consistently followed. Quarterly deep-cleaning projects and special housekeeping activities are completed as scheduled. Demonstrates reliable attendance, punctuality, independence, and pride in maintaining the facility.
