Overview The Carpet Cleaning Technician role is responsible for performing commercial carpet cleaning work as part of a two-person crew at client retail locations across a multi-state territory (NC, SC, GA, TN, AL, MS). This role works under the direction of the Crew Lead, executing hands-on cleaning work each shift while supporting the crew's travel and equipment needs. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes direction well, works hard through overnight shifts, and can be counted on night after night with minimal oversight.

Frequent multi-night travel legs requiring hotel stays away from home Route and schedule can shift week to week based on job assignments and store availability windows Key Accountabilities 1. Carpet Cleaning Execution Perform commercial carpet cleaning work alongside the Crew Lead at scheduled store locations, following Sunset Bay's quality standard Work efficiently as part of a two-person crew to complete all scheduled work within the shift window Follow the Crew Lead's direction on job sequencing, technique, and priorities Flag any site or quality concerns to the Crew Lead in real time 2. Equipment Handling Assist with loading, unloading, and securing cleaning equipment for transport between sites Operate carpet cleaning equipment (extraction units, hoses) under the Crew Lead's direction Help maintain equipment condition and report issues to the Crew Lead 3. Travel & Support Travel with the crew across the multi-state territory, including some multi-night trips requiring hotel stays Assist with driving when needed Support the Crew Lead with day-to-day logistics during travel legs 4. Communication & Reporting Communicate site issues or quality concerns to the Crew Lead during the shift Photograph job site concerns and completed work (flooring, showroom carpet) as directed Report any personal scheduling conflicts or attendance issues to management promptly Outputs Consistently thorough and quality-checked carpet cleaning work at every scheduled stop Reliable attendance and travel readiness Well-maintained equipment A crew that stays on pace and on schedule through the shift Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment (hoses, wands, solution containers) repeatedly through a shift Extended periods standing and walking during overnight hours Ability to work a reversed sleep schedule and stay alert through long highway travel, including after a physically demanding shift Vehicle & Driving Requirements Valid driver's license preferred; may assist with driving when needed Comfortable riding along for multi-hour highway travel between states, including overnight Willing and able to travel overnight, staying in hotels away from home as needed Skills & Experience Demonstrated reliability — consistent attendance and follow-through Comfortable taking direction and following someone else's pace and priorities on the job Strong work ethic and willingness to learn No experience necessary — training provided Required Technical Knowledge Candidates are not expected to have prior experience with Sunset Bay's specific equipment. We are looking for someone with the willingness to learn and the physical stamina to keep pace through a full shift. Willingness to learn hot water extraction / carpet cleaning equipment and processes Basic mechanical aptitude for handling equipment safely
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
