This energetic position involves performing thorough cleaning and sanitation tasks across our facilities, ensuring that every space meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. As a contractor, you will contribute to creating a positive shopping experience by keeping our store spotless, organized, and hygienic. Your dedication to cleanliness will directly impact the health and well-being of pets and the satisfaction of our customers. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning routines throughout the store, including floors, windows, fixtures, and pet areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure proper sanitation without risking health or safety. Conduct custodial tasks like trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment. Utilize commercial cleaning tools and equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocols for safe lifting practices and manual handling. Maintain facilities by performing light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to uphold store appearance standards. Follow safety guidelines rigorously during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries related to heavy lifting or chemical exposure. Support overall store cleanliness by assisting with sanitation of pet care areas, customer service zones, and public spaces to ensure a welcoming atmosphere. Requirements Proven experience in janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols. Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while practicing safe lifting practices at all times. Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in all work areas. Excellent time management skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
