Job Description
Job Overview Centura Public Schools is in need of a reliable, detail-oriented Second Shift Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff and community members. This position plays a key role in preparing classrooms and facilities for daily activities and on occasion, supporting evening school events. This is a 12 month/year-round position. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, classrooms and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment Conduct floor care procedures such as sweeping and mopping Handle cleaning tasks including trash removal, window washing, and deep cleaning projects as needed Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and facilities upkeep to support overall building operations Operate janitorial equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols Ensure all rooms and entrances are secured at shift end Follow district safety procedures and custodial protocols Use PPE and handle cleaning chemicals safely Experience High School diploma or equivalent preferred Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward maintaining cleanliness standards Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a team Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time Join us in creating a clean, safe environment that supports the success of our school!
