Job Overview We are seeking a experienced dedicated and detail-oriented Veterinary Urgent Care Hospital Cleaner to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment within our veterinary urgent care facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to cleanliness, safety, and infection prevention, ensuring that the hospital meets the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene. This role is vital in supporting the health and well-being of both our animal patients and staff by adhering to strict cleaning protocols and safety procedures. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all hospital areas, including treatment rooms, kennels, examination rooms, waiting areas, and outdoor spaces. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines. Laundry Operate cleaning equipment such as , vacuum cleaners, and steam cleaners efficiently to uphold sanitation standards. Follow established safety protocols for manual handling and heavy lifting to prevent injuries during cleaning tasks. Ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental services regulations and infection control policies. Collaborate with healthcare staff to support infection prevention measures and maintain a sterile environment conducive to patient care. Keep detailed records of cleaning activities and supply inventory to ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards. Qualifications Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience, preferably within healthcare or veterinary facilities. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocol adherence, and environmental services. Familiarity with healthcare facilities housekeeping practices, including sanitation procedures specific to medical environments. Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor care machines, vacuums, and steam cleaners. Ability to perform physical tasks involving manual handling and heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with a focus on infection control and sanitation standards. Excellent organizational skills coupled with the ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols accurately. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supporting a positive work environment. Evening and Weekend hours.
