A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Responsibilities Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, and refinish floors Empty trash and recycling containers Set up and break down rooms for school and community events Perform minor building maintenance and routine repairs Remove snow, ice, and debris from entrances and walkways as needed Monitor building security by locking doors, checking windows, and activating alarm systems Assist with deliveries and maintain custodial equipment and supplies Follow all safety procedures and district policies Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physical work throughout the shift What We Offer Starting wage of $18.00 per hour , with future increases in accordance with the MEPA Collective Bargaining Agreement Comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave Participation in the New Hampshire Retirement System Overtime opportunities A supportive team environment dedicated to serving our students and community
