OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Janitor to maintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and operational standards of our small private school campus, spanning three buildings that house a child care center, administrative offices, and K-12 facilities. This role is essential to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Custodial Operations & Equipment Use:

Perform routine cleaning tasks—including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, waste removal, restroom sanitation, and restocking supplies—while operating and maintaining specialized custodial machinery such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and lawnmowers.

Minor Maintenance Tasks:

Conduct minor facility repairs (such as changing light bulbs and adjusting furniture), and monitor facilities to ensure clean, safe, and fully operational spaces.

Safety & Chemical Management:

Ensure proper chemical storage, dilution, and usage in alignment with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), while upholding strict environmental and workplace safety standards across all facilities.

Communication & Task Management:

Work independently and collaboratively with teams, effectively prioritizing tasks despite frequent interruptions and reporting safety concerns or facility needs to leadership.

SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday Flexible afternoon/evening hours, starting no earlier than 3:30 pm

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience:

Previous janitorial/custodial experience preferred.

Certifications & Background Checks Background Check:

Successful completion of a criminal background check required.

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Physical Capabilities Physical Capabilities:

Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs, standing, and moving for extended periods (physical tasks represent over 70% of the job).

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
