Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and energetic Nighttime Building Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our client's facilities. This vital role ensures that their environment remains welcoming, hygienic, and well-maintained for employees, visitors, and students alike. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to delivering exceptional custodial services that uphold our high standards of cleanliness and safety. Hours "2nd Shift" approx 2pm to 10:30pm (possibly 2:30pm to 11pm) 1/2 hour lunch (unpaid) Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning tasks across all designated areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation. Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, adhering to proper handling procedures and safety protocols. Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain polished floors and enhance overall cleanliness. Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards, reporting issues promptly for resolution. Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, or touch-up painting as needed. Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial tasks requiring heavy lifting or manual handling. Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure efficiency and safety. Requirements Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care including buffing and polishing, and proper use of cleaning chemicals. Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices. Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently. Ability to operate custodial equipment like floor buffers confidently and safely. Physical stamina to perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift; capable of standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
