Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

In person Garden Communities is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Porter for Fair Lawn Promenade, a residential apartment community in Fair Lawn, NJ. The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the property's buildings, common areas, and grounds. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices what needs attention, and can complete daily responsibilities thoroughly and without constant supervision. The ideal candidate will have previous porter, janitorial, custodial, or residential property experience and will be comfortable performing both indoor and outdoor duties throughout the year. Responsibilities Clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, offices, and other common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and clean windows and other surfaces as needed Collect and properly dispose of trash and recycling throughout the property Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of entrances, walkways, parking areas, and exterior grounds Remove litter, leaves, and debris from common areas and property grounds Clean and prepare vacant apartments or other areas as directed Restock cleaning products and notify management when supplies are needed Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, property damage, or unusual conditions promptly Assist the maintenance team with basic property tasks and apartment preparation as directed Assist with snow and ice removal and other weather-related property needs Follow company safety procedures and properly use cleaning products, supplies, and equipment Communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, vendors, and management Perform additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications Previous porter, janitorial, custodial, or property maintenance experience preferred Residential apartment community experience is a plus Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and attentive to detail Able to work independently and complete assigned duties thoroughly Professional and respectful when interacting with residents and coworkers Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and lift or carry cleaning supplies and equipment Comfortable performing indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions Able to follow instructions and comply with company safety procedures Must be a team player and work effectively with management and maintenance employees Must be legally authorized to work in the
