A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Monday - Friday (4:00pm-8:00pm)
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.
Essential Functions Include:
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Gather and empty trash. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using specific cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.
REQUIREMENTS
One year of janitorial experiences (preferred but not required) Ability to get to job site for required shifts North Jersey Friendship House is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
