A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Janitorial Staff - Full-Time Union Position Leisure Village West Association - Manchester, NJ Leisure Village West Association is seeking a dependable and experienced individual to join our team as a full-time janitorial staff member. This is a union position represented by SEIU Local 32BJ. The position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining three clubhouses, the Association office, and the Maintenance facility. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors Operate commercial floor-care equipment Empty trash and recycling containers Clean windows, doors, fixtures, and other surfaces Restock paper products and cleaning supplies Set up and clean rooms before and after community events Report maintenance and safety concerns to management Follow all established safety and cleaning procedures Perform other janitorial duties as assigned Qualifications Prior professional janitorial or commercial cleaning experience required Commercial floor-care experience is required Experience stripping, waxing, buffing, and maintaining commercial flooring Ability to operate commercial floor-care equipment safely Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Strong attention to detail Ability to lift cleaning supplies and equipment and perform physical tasks throughout the workday Valid driver's license preferred Leisure Village West Association is an equal opportunity employer.
