Janitor/Cleaner

Job Overview We are seeking cleaners (3 to 4) to care for various government facilities in Morris County. There are some morning hours available (seasonally), but most of the work is between 5pm and 10pm. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas Use commercial cleaning equipment such as buffers and floor polishers to maintain high standards of cleanliness and floor care Conduct deep cleaning procedures for restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure hygiene compliance Assist with custodial responsibilities related to industrial cleaning and facilities maintenance as needed Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, fixtures, and furniture to uphold a professional environment Support minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repairs needed for safety or operational purposes Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a hazard-free workspace Qualifications Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment operation Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors is a plus, but not required Experience with commercial or industrial cleaning environments preferred Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery safely Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks like basic repairs or painting is a plus Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay:

$16.50 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 18.0 per week
