Job Summary Under general supervision, perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment; and perform related work as required. The custodian performs custodial duties in and around county-owned facilities. The employee shall work closely with employees and the public to meet the custodial needs of the area and resolve problems to ensure efficient and safe operations. Essential Duties

  • Responsible for a wide variety of cleaning and general custodial services at the Conference Center.
  • Clean and dust surfaces; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
  • Empty & clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
  • Remove debris from office areas.
  • Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, and water fountains.
  • Refill and maintain restroom and lobby dispensers.
  • Working knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances and how to maintain them.
  • Maintain mirrors and windows.
  • Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the Conference Center Manager.
  • Able to comprehend, read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used to perform the job duties of a custodian.
  • Knowledge and use of and proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
  • Applicant must disclose real or perceived conflicts of interest and must abide by the Governmental Conduct Act.

  • High School diploma or equivalent recognized certificate.
  • Valid New Mexico State Driver's License. Must have a good driving record to be insurable for liability purposes.
  • Possess good organizational skills.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal abilities.

As an employee, you will contribute a percentage of your salary towards your retirement. Grant County, also, contributes a percentage towards your retirement. Currently, for regular employees, Grant County contributes 20.4125% to the employees 3.03%. For law enforcement employees, Grant County contributes 35.1250% to the employees 4.8250%. Paid Holidays

  • Regular, full-time employees are eligible for the thirteen (13) holidays designated by the County Commission. In addition, all regular, full-time, and part-time employees are entitled to one (1) Personal Day per year. Vacation
