What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Duties Description Janitors perform similar duties as Cleaners but have additional responsibilities such as to supervise Cleaners; respond to building issues and perform basic unskilled maintenance; submit work orders for building repairs requiring semiskilled or skilled trades staff; order and restock cleaning supplies; and distribute and collect keys. A Janitor supervises up to ten Cleaners.
