Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Janitor/Handyman to ensure our school remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. This energetic role involves performing a variety of custodial tasks, handling maintenance requests, and providing excellent service to support a clean and functional environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety across our premises. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial machinery to maintain pristine floor conditions Handle chemical agents safely following established safety protocols and handling procedures Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, fixing fixtures, or replacing light bulbs to ensure facilities are in top condition Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices Maintain sanitation standards by properly disposing of waste and cleaning supplies according to safety guidelines Support facilities maintenance by identifying issues that require professional repair or attention Lunch and Breakfast assistance for students Skills Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures Strong understanding of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation practices Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners effectively Experience with residential painting or basic maintenance tasks is a plus Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors Knowledge of safety protocol adherence during cleaning and maintenance activities Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts Join us in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment!
