A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Ballston Spa Central School District has a continuous vacancy for substitute cleaners. Dusts chairs, tables, desks and other furniture; Washes windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs and bowls; Sweeps, mops and washes floors; Gathers and disposes of refuse; Refills soap, towels and soap dispensers; Reports defective fixtures or mechanical equipment to supervisor;May perform a variety of building maintenance or repair tasks; Cleans and polishes furniture and brass; May deliver packages. Other duties as assigned.
