What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Complete routine maintenance including; cleaning elevator tracks, sweep/mop/clean/vacuum all common areas, unclog toilets, sinks, tubs as necessary, assist with exterminating as necessary, lawn and garden care, snow removal, trash removal and recycling, assuring exits are clear at all times, changing light bulbs, polish furniture and elevator doors, paint and stain touch-ups (interior and exterior), and shampooing of carpets. Complete other repairs/maintenance as necessary including but not limited to; furniture repair, minor plumbing repair, minor wall/ceiling repair, etc. Notifying Director of any unsafe or unsanitary conditions. Responding efficiently to work orders from Director and other staff. Maintaining supplies in an orderly and safe area. Perform other duties assigned by Director.
