Job Description

Le Roy Central School District is seeking full-time cleaners. Cleaners perform a range of duties to keep our district clean, including, but not limited to:

Sweeps and mops floors by hand or floor machine;

Washes windows and polishes floors;

Dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles;

Cleans bathrooms and replenishes supplies;

Washes glassware and other dishware equipment;

Vacuum carpets;

Picks up and recycles trash;

Does related work, as needed. Civil Service Title

Job Qualifications

The applicant must possess or obtain NYS fingerprinting clearance and have:

Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment, and ability to use them economically and efficiently; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; willingness to perform janitorial tasks; thoroughness; dependability.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is constantly required to stand; walk; bend; climb; reach with hands and arms; perform repetitive motions; and talk and hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside and may occasionally work outside performing assigned tasks.
