Porter/Maintenance

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter/Janitor to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our millwork manufacturing facility. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, organized, and pleasant environment for our production teams and visitors. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, bathroom maintenance, and snow removal during winter months.

Key Responsibilities:

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including production areas, offices, and restrooms. Dust and wipe down surfaces, including machinery, workstations, and office furniture. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors as needed. Empty and dispose of trash and recycling in designated containers. Restock supplies in restrooms and kitchen areas. Perform detailed cleaning of restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Manager. Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are well-maintained and stored properly. Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment or furniture for meetings or events. Remove snow and ice from walkways, parking lots, and entrance areas during winter months to ensure safe access to the facility. Use snow removal equipment and salt/sand as necessary to manage snow and ice conditions. Assist with moving materials or equipment as needed within the facility. Provide support to other departments during high-demand periods or special projects. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with team members and visitors.

Qualifications:

Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus. Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage. Ability to perform snow removal tasks and operate related equipment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Ability to lift and carry up to [specific weight, e.g., 50 lbs] and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust and noise. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for snow removal tasks.
