A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Environmental Service Tech AC Employment - 2.8 Mount Vernon, NY Job Details $26.30 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Performs day to day Environmental functions as assigned. Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments. Strips/scrubs floors and refinishes tile floor as instructed. Removes and replaces all furniture in assigned areas. Clean floors, to include dust mopping, wet mopping, disinfecting, buffing, burnishing, etc. Clean carpets and upholstery, to include vacuuming, spot cleaning, shampooing and extracting. Clean walls, baseboards, ceiling vents, and doors. Discards waste and soiled linens into proper containers including biohazard material. Delivers clean linens to patient areas as assigned. Assures that supplies are replenished in assigned areas. Assures that all equipment used is operated properly as trained, cleaned after use, and stored in its' proper place. Performs all prescribed cleaning procedures as instructed when a resident is discharged, and or transferred to another apartment. The employee must be flexible in his/her duties. He/she may be requested to substitute for another assignment. Assures that work areas are clean and free of equipment, supplies, and etc. Other related duties as assigned.
