Job Description
The Office Porter is responsible for keeping the office clean, sanitary, organized, and presentable through thorough and consistent cleaning. This includes cleaning workspaces, meeting rooms, kitchens, common areas, corridors, and other shared spaces. The role requires detailed cleaning during each scheduled shift, including areas that are frequently used or may be overlooked during routine cleaning. The goal is to ensure the office is clean and ready for staff and visitors each day. The position also provides general office support, including waste management, kitchen and pantry upkeep, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns. Key Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of the entire office during each scheduled shift. Dust and wipe down desks, tables, shelves, furniture, and other accessible surfaces. Vacuum carpets, floor mats, and other carpeted areas throughout offices, corridors, and communal spaces. Clean and maintain hard floors and other flooring surfaces as needed. Wipe down and sanitize high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, glass doors, railings, and other frequently touched areas. Clean under and around desks, furniture, and other accessible areas to ensure a thorough overall cleaning. Clean and maintain meeting rooms, conference rooms, common areas, and other shared spaces. Ensure meeting rooms and communal areas are clean, organized, and presentation-ready. Address visible spills, stains, dirt, and other cleanliness concerns promptly. Maintain a consistent standard of cleanliness throughout the assigned areas. Waste Management Collect and dispose of garbage from individual desks, offices, kitchens, and communal bins on a regular schedule. Replace bin liners and ensure garbage and recycling are properly separated and disposed of in accordance with company policies. Monitor and maintain recycling stations and replace or restock bins as needed. Ensure waste areas remain clean, orderly, and free of overflowing garbage. Kitchen & Pantry Duties Thoroughly clean and maintain kitchen and pantry areas throughout each shift. Wipe down and sanitize kitchen counters, tables, sinks, cabinets, and other surfaces. Clean and maintain kitchen appliances, including the microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, and other commonly used equipment. Wash, dry, and properly put away dishes, cups, glasses, and cutlery. Empty kitchen and pantry garbage and recycling bins regularly. Keep the kitchen and pantry areas tidy, organized, and ready for staff use. Monitor and restock kitchen and cleaning supplies, including paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, and other essentials General Support Report any maintenance issues, breakages, or safety hazards to the HR team or Office Manager. Assist with occasional office tasks, such as moving furniture, receiving deliveries, and other general office needs. Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored, organized, and replenished as needed. Scheduling Monday-Friday, 7:00 PM-11:00 PM, with flexibility to accommodate occasional early or late tasks as needed. Requirements Previous experience in cleaning, porter, janitorial, or general office support preferred. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and organized environment. Physically able to perform tasks involving standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene practices. Able to complete cleaning tasks thoroughly and efficiently within the scheduled shift.
