A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Position Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout a commercial building. The position performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, helps ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and supports a positive experience for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while following established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
Job Duties:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, common area, and other building spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces. Empty trash and recycling receptacles. Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Identify and report maintenance or safety issues. Follow established cleaning procedures and safety standards. Assist with special cleaning projects and facility needs assigned.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required. Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience needed. Ability to work independently and follow all instructions. Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical cleaning tasks. Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment. $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
