A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Anticipated Start Date:

Immediate Opening Position Information:

12-month position, 240 work-days, 40 hours per week, 2:00PM-10:00PM Paid Time off: 20 paid holidays, 15 vacation days, 18 sick days, 5 personal leave days, 3 family illness days and 3 bereavement days per occurrence

Retirement System:

New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS)

Health Insurance:

13% of premiums paid by employee. BOCES pays 87% of premium. CEWW health insurance consortium is the same as 15 local school districts. $3,000 Health Insurance buyout per year Employee paid benefit options: Vision, Dental, & Life insurance through Guardian 403 (b) & deferred comp 457 plans available 125 plan for unreimbursed medical & dependent care (flex plan) Job Qualifications Requirements for position: Must meet Civil Service requirements Application Procedure
