Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE

Custodian

REPORTS TO

Director of Maintenance SUMMARY:

Responsible for general janitorial and maintenance of school including any and all buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. General janitorial and maintenance care of the school including cleaning classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, gyms, locker rooms, and cafeteria. Snow removal from sidewalks and steps. Insure that bathrooms are clean and have sufficient supplies. Check trash containers and remove trash as needed. Setup, tear down and cleanup for special school events. Painting, stripping and waxing of hallways and classrooms during the summer. Other responsibilities as assigned.

HOURS:

2:00 - 10:00 p.m.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent and previous experience preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop, climb and reach. Ability to keep building areas orderly and clean.
