A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Summary The Lead Custodian oversees daily custodial operations while performing hands-on cleaning duties. This role coordinates work assignments, conducts quality control inspections, monitors supplies, and serves as a point of support for custodial staff, reporting directly to the Project Manager. Key Responsibilities Assign daily work schedules and tasks for custodial staff Conduct quality control inspections and assist staff with corrections Monitor cleaning supply inventory and prepare monthly supply requests Perform general cleaning of offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and public areas Replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness standards Respond to client service requests and report issues to management Identify safety or maintenance concerns Secure work areas and follow all safety procedures Assist with light snow removal and other assigned duties Requirements Ability to lead and work within a custodial team Strong communication and customer service skills Knowledge of standard custodial equipment and supplies Commercial or federal facility cleaning experience (preferred) Ability to pass a drug screen and Federal Government background check Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation) Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods Ability to use ladders or step stools as required SDAC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
