A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented contracted house cleaners to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of our short-term rental properties in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a contracted house cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring that each property is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests, meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
General Cleaning:
Clean and sanitize all areas of the rental property, including living areas, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and hallways. Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping floors. Changing linens, making beds, and ensuring all towels are fresh and neatly arranged.
Deep Cleaning Tasks:
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, remote controls, etc.). Clean appliances (microwave, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher) and kitchen counters. Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Restocking Supplies:
Ensure that essential supplies are stocked (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, etc.). Report any missing or damaged items to the property manager for replacement.
Laundry Services:
Wash, dry, and fold linens and towels. Ensure all laundry is completed in a timely manner and prepared for the next guest's stay.
Guest-Ready Presentation:
Make sure the property is welcoming and presentable, including setting up any necessary amenities for guests (e.g., coffee supplies, toiletries). Ensure there is no trash left behind, and the home looks inviting and clean.
Communication:
Communicate any issues, damage, or maintenance needs to the property management team. Follow check-in/check-out schedules to ensure timely turnovers between guests.
Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience in house cleaning or working in a hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
Reliability:
Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent quality. Attention to

Ability to notice small details to ensure properties meet high cleanliness standards.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift, bend, and move around the property to perform cleaning duties.
Transportation:
Must have reliable transportation to commute between properties.
Availability:
Flexible schedule with availability for on-demand work, especially during peak seasons or between guest check-ins/check-outs.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of cleaning products and their safe use. Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools. Ability to work quickly without compromising quality. Ability to install E-Locks.
Compensation:
Payment will be provided per property cleaned, with rates based on the size and complexity of the property. Bonuses may be offered for exceptional performance or speedy turnarounds.
