What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Record of good attendance and strong work ethic. Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-03 of the Ohio Administrative Code. Willingness to work with staff, students, and community members. Prior related work experience required. Willingness to participate in future training. Ability to lift 50 lbs. numerous times. Willingness to follow assigned work schedule. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board of Education may find appropriate. Knowledge of safety regulations and precautions for the work environment.
