What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Checks heating and air conditioning equipment for proper operation
- Makes minor repair to buildings; Building equipment and furniture; mows lawns and performs general yard work; cleans snow in winter months; ensures proper care in the use & maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Experience:
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or custodial work preferred
- Knowledge of industrial and commercial cleaning techniques
- Familiarity with floor care equipment such as buffers and carpet cleaners
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
