Operate various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and sanitation tools to ensure optimal cleanliness. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols. Assist with custodial tasks such as trash removal, surface disinfecting, and restocking supplies to maintain hygiene standards. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving cleaning supplies or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met and identify areas needing additional attention. Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to promote a secure working environment. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, especially in commercial or industrial cleaning settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care including buffing, and the operation of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers. Familiarity with chemical agent handling and safety procedures related to sanitation products. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining proper posture and technique. Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills to complete tasks within scheduled shifts. Customer service skills are a plus, as the role may involve interactions with staff or visitors in shared spaces. Basic understanding of facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning practices is advantageous.
