A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
The mission of the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Deepwood is to EMPOWER individuals with developmental disabilities to ENGAGE in activities that ENRICH their lives and contribute to their community. Community members, local organizations, businesses, County Board employees, as well as the individuals we serve and their families, help us succeed in carrying out our mission. We are looking for Custodial Workers. Custodial Worker (not all inclusive): Perform "Emergency Cleaning" upon detection or by request of Building Manager or Supervisor. Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairwells. Scrub, strip, wax, and buff floor areas. Stock and order custodial supplies. Assist in set-up and clean-up for inside and outdoor building functions. Report safety concerns and repairs to Building Manager or Supervisor. Wash inside windows. Clean/dust/polish desks, furniture, office equipment, shelving, window blinds, fire exit signs, sprinkler heads, ceiling vents, and heat registers. Clean/disinfect necessary items/areas including but not limited to: tables, chairs, lockers, water fountains, door knobs, windowsills, rails, beds, walls elevators, laundry equipment, door kick plates, and hygiene cabinets. Empty and sanitize trash cans. Clean debris and leaves by entrance doors
