What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Salary Range:
$21.63 - $27.92 (9 Steps)
Desired Skills:
Preference will be given to the individual who can demonstrate the following. A personal commitment to achieve a "showplace" for students, staff, and community. The applicant will be expected to have the ability to work independently. The ability to adhere to established cleaning methods, use designated materials, and operatestandard cleaning equipment. Must be able to accept direction from supervisors and demonstrate the ability to deal with employees and the public in a positive and cordial manner.
