What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

The successful applicant must have the following on file before they can start: High school diploma or equivalent Current and favorable State and Federal background checks Rapback Enrollment through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Negative drug screen result Successful completion of the skills test A skills test will be administered The test will cover custodial, and general maintenance related skills required of the position. Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The successful candidate must complete all compliance courses as assigned by the Administration.
