QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities. Must be capable of rigorous physical labor and meet all qualifications as set forth in the Physical Job Description. Demonstrate a cheerful attitude, good personal hygiene and ability to work with students, teachers, patrons, administrators and co-workers. Fulfill requirements for promptness and good attendance habits. Demonstrate good work habits and effective use of time. Such alternatives and additions to the above as administration deems necessary.

232 day contract. Salary to be determined as per SECNP Master Contract.

JOB GOAL

To provide students, patrons, and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable and clean facility which is conducive to a good learning/working atmosphere.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat, safe and clean at all times. Regulate heat, ventilation and air conditioning equipment for maximum efficiency.

Maintains, cleans, and replaces filters in heating and air conditioning equipment for maximum efficiency. Unlocks buildings in the morning and locks all necessary doors at the close of the day to maintain security. Clean corridors after school each day and as directed during the school day. Cleans classrooms, chalkboards, and trash cans daily. Thoroughly clean and disinfect all restroom floors, fixtures, and drinking fountains daily.

Make minor repairs as qualified and assigned. Report all major repairs needed promptly to the supervisor. Assume responsibility for lights to maximize energy savings. Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance on the school facilities as assigned by supervisor. Move furniture or equipment on campus as required for various activities as directed by supervisor. Complies with all laws regarding storage and disposal of chemicals, trash, rubbish, and other waste. Attends all required training, workshops and programs. Performs other custodial duties as deemed necessary bu supervisor for the best management of school facilities. Work hours may vary from site to site and from job to job to best fit the needs of the school district. The working hours may be subject to change. Each custodian shall have the capability for performing the following tasks: A. Replacing ceiling tile

B. Change light bulbs (inside and outside)

C. Repair floor tile

D. Move furniture and chairs

E. Haul Trash

F. Install and repair playground equipment

G. Trim, mow and edge

H. Outside painting

I. Tighten screws in doors and other equipment

J. Clean grounds

K. Repair fences

L. Set up for programs

M. Install tackboards, pencil sharpeners, chalkboards, toilet paper holders, paper towel cabinets, etc. N. Clean flower beds

O. Seed, sod, fertilize, and water grass

P. Try to unplug stools prior to submitting work request.

Perform all other duties that are assigned by the supervisor or Site Principal.
