GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Commercial Cleaning Team Lead is responsible for providing hands-on leadership and supervision to employees performing janitorial, cleaning, construction, restoration, maintenance, and general labor services. This position works alongside team members while ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company and client expectations. The Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact between field employees and management and is responsible for maintaining productivity, quality standards, communication, accountability, and a professional work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Lead and participate in construction, restoration, demolition, repair, maintenance, and general labor projects as assigned. Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and job performance. Provide training and guidance on proper work procedures, equipment use, safety practices, and company expectations. Address minor performance or workplace issues and report more serious concerns to management. Ensure facilities are cleaned according to company and client specifications. Inspect completed work and correct deficiencies before leaving the job site. Monitor and maintain adequate supplies, equipment, and materials. Report damaged equipment, supply shortages, maintenance concerns, or client issues to management. Assist with job site preparation, material handling, cleanup, demolition, and other physical work. Read and follow work orders, project instructions, scopes of work, and direction from supervisors or project management. Coordinate team members and assign daily duties ensuring that employees understand job expectations and that work is completed efficiently and according to established timelines. Maintain an organized and safe work area throughout the project. Enforce company safety policies and procedures at all times. Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary. Conduct or participate in job-site safety meetings and training as required. Ensure company vehicles, equipment, tools, and materials are used properly and responsibly. Communicate regularly with supervisors, project managers, and management regarding job progress, staffing needs, delays, and concerns. Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, contractors, vendors, and other individuals encountered at job sites. Respond appropriately to changing priorities and communicate schedule or staffing changes to employees. Assist with emergency, after-hours, or special projects as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALITIFICATIONS
Job qualifications may include but are not limited to the following: Previous experience as a janitor and cleaner Knowledge of and ability to handle cleaning equipment Knowledge of and ability to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies Floor care experience a plus Integrity and transparency in leading team members Flexibility to meet the challenge of unexpected circumstances Ability to lift and/or carry 40 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, climb, carry, and/or reach for extended periods Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position regularly works in commercial facilities, construction sites, renovation projects, restoration environments, and other indoor and outdoor locations. Working conditions may vary depending on the assigned project.
