What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building. Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures. Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and cafeteria. Maintains a neat and orderly supply closet; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked. Assists in examining school for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to property manager. Performs related tasks as assigned.
Schedule:
Mondays 8 hours, Tuesday + Wednesday evenings 4 hours You have… Prior custodial experience is preferred. Competency Profile Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Detail-oriented and thorough. Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance. Ability to keep the school clean and orderly. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Ability to continuously stand and walk Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
