A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:30 PM AMS | Association Management Services NW is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Associate to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of a high-rise residential community in Portland. This position is responsible for keeping shared spaces clean, orderly, and welcoming for residents, guests, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, notices the details, and is comfortable working independently while staying connected with the on-site team. What you'll do: Clean and maintain common areas, including floors, hallways, stairwells, and other shared spaces. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, scrub, and polish surfaces as needed. Clean and restock restrooms, including mirrors, fixtures, and other surfaces. Maintain the guest suite between stays and restock supplies as needed. Collect trash and recycling and keep disposal areas clean and organized. Clean and maintain elevators, including doors, tracks, and floors. Keep entrances, courtyards, garages, sidewalks, and other exterior areas free of debris. Clean accessible glass in entry areas and community spaces. Keep janitorial closets and supply areas clean and organized. Monitor cleaning supplies and communicate supply needs to the on-site community manager. Report vandalism, damage, or items left in common areas. Complete daily and seasonal cleaning responsibilities as needed. Assist with other reasonable tasks related to the position and your qualifications. What we're looking for: Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or similar experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean spaces. Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities. Reliable, dependable, and consistent attendance. Ability to communicate professionally with residents, guests, vendors, and coworkers. Comfortable performing physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintaining a residential property.
