Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and safety are upheld. The Custodian will play an essential part in creating a positive atmosphere for staff, visitors, and clients alike by delivering exceptional custodial services with efficiency and professionalism. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and other janitorial tools to ensure effective maintenance of floors and surfaces Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures during cleaning tasks Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, and equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injury Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting restrooms, kitchens, and common areas regularly and thoroughly Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, or reporting larger issues to the appropriate department Follow safety protocols consistently to ensure a hazard-free environment for all staff and visitors Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial or residential setting Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and the proper use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to safety protocol guidelines Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks; familiarity with safe lifting practices is essential Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high cleanliness standards Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach when interacting with staff or visitors Prior experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles is preferred but not required Join our team as a Custodian and be part of an organization committed to creating clean, safe environments that foster productivity and well-being. $33,115.00 - $48,017.00 per year
