A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Horizon Properties Group is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Day Porter to keep Southpointe Town Center — a high-traffic mixed-use retail development — looking its best every single day. This is a hands-on, on-your-feet role for someone who takes pride in a clean, sharp property and doesn't need to be told what to do next. If you notice the litter before anyone else does and can't walk past a stray cart or an overflowing can, you're who we're looking for.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
▪ Empty trash and keep common areas, walkways, and entrances clean throughout the day ▪ Police the grounds for litter, cigarette butts, and debris ▪ Light landscaping — pull weeds, tidy planters and beds, blow off walkways ▪ Hose down and spot-clean sidewalks, entrances, and exterior surfaces as needed ▪ Take on ad hoc projects and other tasks as the needs of the business dictate
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
▪ A self-starter who works well on their own and enjoys variety over a fixed checklist ▪ Friendly and courteous with visitors, tenants, and staff — while staying focused on the work ▪ Comfortable with physical, outdoor work in all conditions, hot summers and cold winters alike ▪ Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented, with pride in a job well done ▪ Reliable transportation required; able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet all shift
