What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

- Performs duties necessary to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe building with a sparkling appearance
- Full disclosure of past work history
- Experience in operating all floor and rug care equipment
- Experience in operation of snow removal and lawn care equipment
- Reports all items needing repair to the appropriate designee
- Reports all safety hazards to appropriate designee
- Provides custodian support service necessary for the proper operation of the education program
- All PA required clearances, a physical and TB test and all other required paperwork
