Substitute Custodian/Cleaner Schedule/Calendar:

Maximum of 5 - 8 hours per day; maximum 25 hours per week +; 182 days per year

Salary:

$19.00/hr. + $0.25/hr. Shift Differential The Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned building(s) clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established districtpolicies and standards. A custodian must maintain all assigned building(s) in a state of operationalexcellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstaclesto the education program.

Essential Functions:

Performs inside and outside cleaning and sanitizing services as assigned Performs restoration of resilient and hard surface floors (stripping, wet vacuuming, rinsing, sealing, waxing, buffing, polishing) as directed Cleans carpeting (spot removal and shampooing) Provides setups for banquets, concerts, band, health fairs, athletic contests, community education activities, conferences, meetings, and other events, as directed Performs snow and ice removal tasks as needed and directed Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor Education and/or

Certification Required:

High School diploma or GED preferred

Experience Needed:

Previous custodial experience preferred

Requisite Skills:

Physical ability to perform tasks described above on a routine basis Ability to work well with people Ability to understand and follow simple written or oral instructions Ability to work standing/walking for long periods of time Ability to work alone Ability to lift, push, pull, twist, stand, raise arms above shoulders, stoop to floor, climb ladders and stairs
