A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The weekend custodian for this vibrant, outreach-focused Episcopal church in a serene setting in Malvern works in communication with the rector, parish administrator, and property chair to ensure the two worship spaces and parish office (three main buildings) are clean and ready for use on Saturday for activities and Sunday for services in accordance with the needs of the parish.
Hours:
11 hours/weekend, typically Saturday 9a.m.-2p.m. and Sunday 7a.m.-1p.m. Some flexibility.
Compensation:
$20/hour. No benefits.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to move chairs and tables, lift up to 40lbs, and walk around the 16-acre campus. Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions independently and collaboratively. Must have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the premises, including worship spaces, restrooms, hallways, kitchenettes, and common areas Set up, lift, and move equipment for services, activities, and events Open buildings and start coffee and tea for Sunday fellowship Respond promptly to requests for assistance from rector, parish administrator, and property chair Maintain stock of supplies and cleaning products in conjunction with parish administrator Follow all safety protocols while performing duties To apply, please send a cover letter and work experience to jobs@stpetersgv.org.
