Janitor / Housekeeper Job Description This role provides essential cleaning and housekeeping services in a health center during evening hours. You ensure that rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas remain clean, sanitized, and well-stocked, supporting a safe and comfortable environment for staff and patients. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Clean patient rooms, offices, and common areas to maintain a neat and orderly appearance. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors throughout the facility as assigned. Dust surfaces, fixtures, and furniture to maintain a clean environment. Remove trash from rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas, and dispose of it in designated areas. Disinfect high-touch surfaces and equipment to support a sanitary environment. Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and other restroom and cleaning items. Perform general janitorial and custodial duties as needed to support overall facility cleanliness. Work independently after hours in the health center while maintaining safety and security standards. Interact professionally when encountering office staff, doctors, nurses, and patients in the course of cleaning duties. Essential Skills Experience with general cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial duties. Ability to clean, dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and disinfect various areas and surfaces. Capability to perform trash removal and handle cleaning supplies and equipment safely. Strong work ethic and reliability, including consistent attendance for second shift hours. Positive attitude and willingness to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Comfort working independently in a facility after hours. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established cleaning procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, environmental services, or custodial work is beneficial. Experience working in a healthcare or clinical environment is a plus. Strong sense of responsibility when working alone in a facility after hours. You perform your duties across rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas using standard cleaning tools and supplies for vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, and disinfecting. The dress code allows jeans or leggings and a blue or black T-shirt, with close-toed shoes required; sweatpants are not permitted. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TATAMY Borough, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
