Job Description

Role and Responsibilities Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe environment throughout the manufacturing facility, warehouse, office areas, and common spaces. This position supports plant safety, employee safety, and operational efficiency by ensuring all assigned areas meet company sanitation standards and FDA/GMP requirements. The Janitor also assists with basic facility maintenance and other assigned duties to support plant operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the facility.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers throughout production, warehouse, office, and common areas on a continuous basis.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms daily and replenish paper products and soap as needed.
  • Clean offices, conference rooms, break rooms, locker rooms, hallways, entrances, and other common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces throughout assigned areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production support areas while following sanitation procedures.
  • Complete required sanitation and cleaning logs accurately to comply with FDA, GMP, and company requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to management.
  • Perform basic facility maintenance duties such as painting, replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and other general labor tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with seasonal facility maintenance, including snow removal, ice control, and other weather-related responsibilities.
  • Be available to assist during facility emergencies or severe weather events when needed.
  • Support other departments with general housekeeping or labor tasks as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Must be comfortable wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the production floor or in any area where PPE is required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Previous janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or production experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and minor maintenance repairs is preferred.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
Pay:
$19.00 per hour
