A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

The Lead Janitorial Worker provides on-site operational leadership for assigned contract location(s), ensuring cleaning and environmental services are delivered to contract specifications, OSHA standards, and the organizations quality benchmarks. This role blends hands-on service delivery with functional supervision — directing shift personnel, training staff, completing quality inspections, and serving in the Site Supervisor's capacity when required.WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION
Sunday:
8:30a-5:00p andThursday, Friday, & Saturday:
8:00a-5:00p. However, the scheduled may change based on the needs of the business to include different days, night, and/or weekends.WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead and coordinate daily assignments for custodial staff on your assigned shift.
- Perform hands-on cleaning duties including floors, restrooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces.
- Train new and existing staff on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure all work meets contract specifications.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and proper chemical handling protocols.
- Serve as the on-site supervisor when the Site Supervisor is unavailable.
- Maintain supply inventory, complete required logs, and report issues promptly.
- Support snow removal and exterior maintenance as outlined by contract.
WHAT YOU BRING
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of commercial janitorial or custodial experience.
- Demonstrated experience directing or training others.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment (buffers, scrubbers, extractors), and chemical safety.
- Floor care expertise (stripping, waxing, buffing, refinishing).
- Valid Driver's License with Real ID — personal vehicle required on-site.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
