JOB SUMMARY
The Substitute Custodian provides district-wide coverage for custodial shifts on an as-needed basis, including absences due to call-outs, vacations, and special events. This role also supports facility maintenance and improvement projects to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across all district buildings and grounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
?Minimum of one (1) year of custodial or maintenance experience in a public or private setting preferred. ?Prior experience in a school system is highly desirable.
KNOWLEDGE
?Familiarity with cleaning materials, methods, tools, and custodial equipment preferred.
EDUCATION
?High School Diploma or equivalent required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
?Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. ?Walking, climbing, stooping, reaching , pushing, talking, pulling, crawling, crouching, lifting, (50 lb minimum), handling hearing, grasping standing, kneeling, carrying, seeing , balancing and turning.
WORKING CONDITIONS
•Working conditions: Work inside/outside, adequate lighting/ventilation, work with/around others and work alone.
RESPONSIBILITIES
?Maintain district buildings in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition, including classrooms, corridors, stairwells, and restrooms. ?Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables. ?Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school activities and events. ?Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. ?Assist with grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal. ?Perform additional duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
?Must provide a current national background check at the time of hire. ?Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Per Diem/ $ 18.00 per hour
