Job Description

Summary:
Under the direction of the Environmental Services Supervisor, and according to established procedures, is responsible for performing housekeeping duties. Moving furniture, equipment, and supplies, in and around hospital departments; and performing a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
General hospital-related housekeeping experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and ability to follow instructions on containers, materials and cleaning equipment, health and safety practices.
  • Ability to utilize proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to use industrial powered equipment.
  • Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers. Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and be self-motivated, work effectively under timelines; follow oral or written instructions.
  • Maintains information confidential (HIPAA)
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to utilize responsive customer service skills when interacting and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary teams Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or
Safety Requirements:
Visual acuity and hand dexterity. Physical ability involves a variety of body movements including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, stretching and reaching. Physical ability involves pushing, pulling and lifting more than 50 lbs.
