Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our premises. Your efforts will ensure that all areas are sanitized, well-kept, and compliant with safety standards, contributing to a positive experience for staff and visitors alike. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all facility areas. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment. Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to ensure a polished appearance. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks as needed and report any repairs or safety hazards promptly. Qualifications Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and the proper use of cleaning equipment. Experience handling chemical agents safely and following chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Strong customer service skills with the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Familiarity with industrial cleaning tools such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners is preferred.
