A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Overview This position requires a dedicated individual to lead the activities of the custodial staff during daily shifts and perform general cleaning duties alongside team. This position requires effective communication and interaction with clients and facility senior management. Responsibilities Assign and supervise the daily work of a small group of Custodians. Maintain accurate records of labor hours for staff. Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and report any shortages. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals. Perform activities alongside staff including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning bathroom facilities, etc. Report any damages, discrepancies, lost property, and safety concerns to management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have prior supervisor experience. Previous cleaning experience preferred but not required. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with staff and clients. Available weekday morning/evenings, and weekends if needed. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to report to work on time for early, late, or weekend shifts. Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
