What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize factory floors, production areas, restrooms, offices, and break rooms
  • Operate floor scrubbers, sweep machines, buffers, and other industrial cleaning equipment
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and remove debris from warehouse and manufacturing areas
  • Empty trash, recycling, and industrial waste containers
  • Clean spills and maintain safe walkways to prevent hazards
  • Restock restroom and cleaning supplies
  • Follow all OSHA, safety, and company sanitation procedures
  • Assist with cleaning around machinery and equipment during shutdown periods
  • Remove dust, dirt, grease, and other buildup from surfaces
  • Report maintenance, safety, or repair issues to supervisors
  • Support general facility upkeep and organization Qualifications
  • Previous janitorial, warehouse, or factory cleaning experience preferred
  • Experience operating floor scrubbers and industrial sweep machines preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the shift
  • Comfortable standing, bending, walking, and working around machinery
